The Future of;
“The Future of:” sought to push theatre artists outside of their usual art-making guidelines to create more well-rounded artists and humans. The goal allowed these artists to experiment and expand on topics they are passionate about with a diversity of mediums that interest them. This exhibition allowed the individual artists to focus on the future of…politics, socioeconomics, social issues, or personal narratives.

About the artists
Jess Token
Artist & Curator
Token's work often focuses on creating sculptural and immersive video spaces that her viewers can interact with. She created two pieces for this exhibition, both focused on female experiences and feminist conversations. How do we define the female gaze and the historical waves of feminism? Her pieces challenge these definitions.
Julio Rosado
Artist
Julio Rosado is an Indiana-based props designer and theatre artist. His recent work focuses on the relationship between humans and nature and the interrelation these two have. Rosado's piece for the exhibition focuses on what our future looks like in 30 years. In a world where ocean pollution gets worse every day, this piece depicts our existence on Earth. From trash collected locally to the exhibition site, he tells the story of humans drowning in their choices.
Kema Laramie
Artist
Kema Laramie is a theatrical scenic and props artisan based just outside of Chicago. Their work focuses on using a variety of mixed media to create thought-provoking spaces. Their exhibition piece focuses on governments collecting data on civilians in the U.S. and around the world. It focuses on the potential for fascism to occur within this surveillance state. What happens if our information is in the wrong hands?
Nicholas Herrera
Artist
Nicholas Herrera is a theatrical sound designer based out of Indiana. His work often focuses on creating new worlds to transport the viewer through sound alone. He also continues to explore experimental video production. His piece depicts the controversial side of the new AI text-to-image technologies. These AIs are trained on databases of thousands of images from the internet. Although AI art is intriguing, is it ethical?
About the Musicians
Aidan Sturgeon
Singer/Songwriter; Concert & Sound Coordinator
Aidan Sturgeon is a singer/songwriter based out of Brooklyn, NY. His music could be described as Indie Folk by many but allows it to be up to individual interpretation. He has also played in other groups, such as Goats of Sweden, and more recently, Galaxy News Radio.
David Maginity
Singer/Songwriter
David Maginity is a singer/songwriter who plays ethereal folk music touching on themes like existentialism and identity. The dark ambiance in his music is the result of combining dissonant jazz chordings with folk-style fingerpicking patterns. Some of his greatest inspirations are Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead.
Home Phone
Musical Project
Home Phone is a collaboration project based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana between Roman New Time (Ron Record) and Doorgirl (Olivia Morris). This electronic musical project carries a listening experience where melody meets chaos, where love songs can be heard from a different place, where the production is experimental, but simultaneously precise and intentional. The live show features their friend Red Streak (Zara McCord) who shares a role in performance and adds an additional sonic and visual element to Home Phone.
Gwynith Yvonne
Singer/Songwriter
Gwynith Yvonne studies soil science and geology. Ask her about nature. Music and the arts have always been a large part of Yvonne's life, and she is pleased to say that she has shared her art with her community. Their selection of songs for the exhibition will showcase their singing abilities outside of a band and allow a closer look of who she is inside.
